This course focuses on the sound system which is phonetics and phonology. An aha moment I encountered for this course was that a great way to minimize pronunciation woes in Spanish is to make a discrete sort of break at every vowel. American English tends to compress words but in Spanish it comes out sounding unnatural. Morphology of words or sentence structure is a somewhat more flexible in Spanish than it is in English. English follows a stricter more formal grammar rules.
